Picture book written and illustrated by Edward Miller. Holiday House: New York, 2008.
This book provides an overview of the many aspects of teeth including anatomy, how to care for them, and going to the dentist. Bold and bright illustrations clearly outline the information around oral health. Historical and cultural tidbits are sprinkled throughout the book, too, such as that ancient Egyptians believed that putting a recently deceased mouse on your tooth would cure the pain of toothache. Illustrations throughout depict children and dentists/dental hygienists from different racial backgrounds.
